121 First Street

Completed in the summer of 2018, this 60,000 SF, five-story building features 51,500 SF of Class A office space and 6,700 SF of retail. Situated in the First Street Corridor within minutes of MIT and the MBTA Kendall Square and Lechmere stations, 121 First Street was the second of six mixed-use development projects developed by Urban Spaces on First Street in Cambridge. The entire office portion of the building was preleased months before completion to CarGurus, the online automotive research platform and marketplace.

Formerly the site of Big John’s Mattress Factory and surface parking lots, 121 First Street was designed by award-winning architectural firm Perkins Eastman. Located across the street from CambridgeSide (the former Cambridgeside Galleria), the building adds vibrancy to the First Street Corridor – which is fast emerging as a pedestrian-friendly, focal point of Cambridge’s technology and life sciences hub, creating an important link between Kendall Square and Lechmere Station.
